Black River Health has announced that Cathy Bukowski will serve as its new Chief Financial Officer. Bukowski, who brings more than three decades of experience in healthcare finance, is expected to be influential in advancing the organization's goals and maintaining high standards of care in Jackson County and nearby areas.

Carl Selvick, CEO of Black River Health, expressed his optimism about Bukowski's arrival, stating, “Cathy’s extensive experience, leadership in healthcare finance, and passion for working in close-knit, independent organizations make her an excellent fit for Black River Health.” Selvick believes her contributions will be crucial in fostering a healthier future.

Bukowski graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. Her career trajectory includes prominent financial leadership roles, such as CFO and Vice President of Revenue Cycle, in a diverse range of organizations, from autonomous bodies to extensive healthcare networks.

Expressing enthusiasm, Bukowski commented, “I’m excited to be part of such a dedicated and driven team at Black River Health. Everyone here is deeply committed to enhancing the well-being of the community. The health system’s drive to remain independent while delivering exceptional care truly drew me in, and I’m proud to serve the community in this new role.”

In her new capacity, Bukowski will collaborate with the leadership and staff at Black River Health to manage its financial stability. This effort aims to sustain the provision of high-quality care to the local community.

Originally from Milwaukee, Bukowski has relocated to Black River Falls, where she lives with her rescue dog, Charli. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family during game nights.

Additionally, Black River Health acknowledged Holly Winn for her previous contributions as the Chief Finance and Operating Officer. Winn will continue to lend her expertise as a Senior Advisor until the end of the year.
