The Keweenaw Health Foundation has provided a $22,000 donation to the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies & Fitness Center - Calumet. This contribution is intended to support the purchase of new fitness and therapy equipment that will benefit both community members and patients in the region.
For many years, the Aspirus Fitness Center has offered flexible memberships, group fitness classes, personal training, and outpatient rehabilitation services. The funds will be used to replace old equipment, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for individuals of all fitness levels and recovery stages.
Jenn Jenich-Laplander, Executive Director of the Keweenaw Health Foundation, expressed the significance of the donation: “This is truly an investment that will strengthen community wellness for years to come. We’re proud to support the Aspirus Outpatient Therapies and Fitness Center - Calumet that helps so many people—from those working on recovery to those simply trying to stay active and well.”
The new equipment will be an asset for daily users of the center, providing reliable tools for exercise and rehabilitation. These improvements are expected to meet the needs of everyone, whether they are starting their fitness journey or continuing therapy after an injury.
Jeff Baril, Director of Regional Therapy Services, acknowledged the donation, saying, “We are incredibly thankful for the Keweenaw Health Foundation’s continued partnership. This support allows us to maintain a high standard of care and wellness in the Copper Country. The new equipment will serve our friends, families, and neighbors for many years.”
Since relocating to 25680 Copper King Way in Calumet in 2018, the center has expanded its wellness offerings with updated facilities, including locker rooms and saunas, and has become a key resource for individuals of all ages wanting to maintain their health and fitness locally.
