The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has announced the certification of three nominees for the upcoming election to the Wisconsin Potato Industry Board. The candidates were nominated during a period that concluded on March 28, 2025. Potato growers in the state will have from May 12 to June 16, 2025, to cast their votes.
The nominees are Keith Wolter from Antigo, representing multiple counties including Ashland and Barron; Andy Diercks from Coloma, representing counties such as Marathon and Outagamie; and Joseph E. Seis from Grand Marsh, who represents all producers across Wisconsin. Those elected will begin their three-year terms on July 1, 2025.
Ballots will be mailed by DATCP to eligible potato growers starting the week of May 12, 2025. Growers who do not receive a ballot by May 20 can request one by contacting DATCP Market Orders staff. Voters can choose a candidate within their district or write in another eligible producer's name. Completed ballots must be emailed or postmarked to the DATCP Market Orders Program by June 16, 2025.
The Wisconsin Potato Industry Board election is administered by DATCP as part of its role overseeing elections for Wisconsin commodity marketing boards.
