A federal grand jury has indicted Calvin M. Eriksen, 47, of Brookfield, Wisconsin, on charges of distributing child pornography. The indictment was returned on August 12, 2025, according to Richard G. Frohling, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
If found guilty, Eriksen faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison and could serve up to twenty years. He may also be fined as much as $250,000 and would have to register as a sex offender under both state and federal law.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse online. The program brings together federal, state, and local agencies to identify offenders who exploit children via the Internet and to assist victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
Homeland Security Investigations offices in Milwaukee and West Palm Beach collaborated with the City of Brookfield Police Department during the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Megan J. Thomas will prosecute the case.
“An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the government must prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”
