A federal grand jury has indicted Adam A. Juslen, 41, a registered sex offender from Waushara County, Wisconsin, on charges of possession of child pornography. The indictment was announced by Richard G. Frohling, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
According to the indictment, Juslen is accused of possessing several sexually explicit images depicting children under the age of 8. Juslen has prior convictions for possession of child pornography in Calumet County (2010), Waushara County (2014), and Outagamie County (2015). If convicted on the current federal charge, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation was conducted by the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation. Assistant United States Attorney Alexander E. Duros will prosecute the case.
The prosecution is part of Project Safe Childhood, a national initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The program brings together federal, state, and local resources to identify and prosecute those who exploit children online and to assist victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.projectsafechildhood.gov.
Officials emphasized that an indictment is only a charge and does not constitute evidence of guilt; all defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
