Aspirus Health has begun construction on a new hospital and clinic in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. The groundbreaking event took place on August 14, with participation from construction partners and community leaders.
“At Aspirus, we proudly serve rural and small-town communities, and this project strengthens our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Chippewa Falls and the surrounding area—with compassion, expertise, and excellence,” said Matt Heywood, President and CEO of Aspirus Health. “We listened to the community, and this project directly answers what you’ve told us: you want more local health care options, and you deserve the very best.”
The site for the facility covers 22 acres along Chippewa Crossing Boulevard. Site clearing began earlier in the year. New roads will be constructed to improve access to the campus. The next phase includes building an approximately 35,000-square-foot facility aimed at addressing health care gaps in the region.
“We know how vital these services are to the Chippewa Falls community," said Jason Krueger, vice president and general manager of Boldt, which is serving as general contractor for the project. “We’ll be employing a variety of innovative approaches to construction, including offsite fabrication, to help Aspirus bring this essential hospital online quickly so patients can start accessing these services sooner.”
The first phase of development will include an emergency department with ten treatment rooms, ten inpatient beds, an on-site clinic with twelve treatment rooms, imaging services such as X-ray and CT scans, laboratory services, and a pharmacy.
“We’re thrilled to expand and elevate local care while boosting the local economy,” said Jason Troxell, Aspirus Wisconsin Northwest Region President. “We welcome the chance to connect with our neighbors as we heal people, promote health, and strengthen communities.”
Aspirus expects completion of the new hospital and clinic by September 2026.
