A Powerball ticket sold at Kwik Trip on 4085 E. Calumet St. in Appleton won $100,000 in the Wednesday, September 10 drawing. The winning ticket matched four of five numbers (2-24-45-53-64) and the Powerball (5), and included the $1 Power Play option, doubling the standard $50,000 prize to $100,000 with a 2X multiplier.

This recent win is part of a streak for Wisconsin players, who have claimed 18 prizes exceeding $50,000 over the last five Powerball drawings. The latest series of wins follows the conclusion of a historic jackpot run that ended Saturday with a $1.787 billion jackpot split between winners in Texas and Missouri. This was the second-largest lottery jackpot ever recorded in the United States.

The Appleton Kwik Trip has previously sold several large-prize tickets, including Lotto tickets worth $132,000 and $50,000 and scratch tickets for $100,000 and $30,000.

Winners have up to 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize. Information about claiming prizes is available at https://www.wilottery.com/. Players can also check their tickets using the Lottery’s mobile app on both iOS and Android platforms.

Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m., with ticket sales closing at 9:00 p.m. Tickets cost $2 per play; adding Power Play costs an extra dollar.

According to information from https://www.wilottery.com/games/odds-lotto-games/powerball/, the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately one in 292 million. The odds of securing a $50,000 prize are about one in 913 thousand. On Wednesday night’s drawing, there was roughly a one-in-two chance that a 2X multiplier would be drawn with Power Play.
