The Wisconsin Elections Commission (WEC) has released a report on voter fraud and election integrity in the 2020 and 2021 elections that found between Aug. 22, 2020, and May 19, 2021, there were 41 possible occurrences of voter fraud in Wisconsin.

State Rep. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit), who sits on the Assembly Campaigns and Elections Committee, says this data only proves that voter fraud is uncommon and is identified when it occurs.

“There is not a systemic security problem,” Spreitzer said, as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I think we can have a high degree of confidence in our elections that the will of the electorate prevails.”

The WEC reportedly discovered possible connections between Wisconsin voters and voters in 29 other states, including Washington, D.C., indicating that people may have voted in both Wisconsin and other states. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported that half of the suspected fraud instances were in La Crosse, where 22 people registered to vote using the address of a UPS store.

“Election officials and law enforcement across Wisconsin work together proactively to prevent, identify and prosecute suspected cases of voter fraud,” said Meagan Wolfe, administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, in a press release.

Wolfe also noted that the commission is committed to addressing public concerns about voting integrity, adding, “As we report these statistics to the legislature, we want the public to understand that we take these matters seriously," the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel stated.

On May 24, the WEC also published a separate draft report stating that district attorneys had been notified of 10 cases in which convicts were suspected of voting while on probation or extended monitoring, which is currently illegal in Wisconsin.

The Elections Commission, which is made up of three members each from the Democratic and Republican parties, was to convene this week to further discuss the draft reports.

Additionally, ProPublica issued a report in March 2020 indicating that potential voter fraud was a serious concern regarding automated or universal mail-in ballots.

The the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that 3.3 million residents voted in November.
