A new Convention of States Action (COSA) and Trafalgar poll shows that most Americans do not have confidence that Vice President Kamala Harris is prepared to be president if the need arises.

The poll was conducted by the conservative Trafalgar Group, in partnership with Convention of States Action, and surveyed 1,161 likely voters. It showed that 63.6% of respondents said they were not confident that Kamala Harris is ready to be president, with 58.6% answering "not confident at all."

By contrast only 31.6% of respondents said that the were confident in Harris' ability to be president, with only 22.2% answering "very confident."

“Our last poll found that most Americans don’t believe Joe Biden is actually running the country, and today we’re learning voters think Kamala Harris’ tenure as vice president has been a disaster, and she’s absolutely not ready to step in and take his place,” said Mark Meckler, president of Convention of States Action, in a statement. “Washington, D.C., has never been more radically out of step with the will of the American people than right now.”

The results differed by party affiliation, but all groups showed significant signs of a lack of confidence in Harris. The poll said 42.6% of Democrats surveyed were not confident, compared to 88.4% of Republicans, 61.8% of independents or third party members. 

“Our message to America is this, 'Washington doesn’t care what you think,'" Meckler said. "Get the attention of those who do. Make sure your governor, state representative and local elected officials know where you stand. They can actually deliver for you, and will pay attention to your priorities.” 

COSA is a grassroots political organization with more than 5 million supporters across the United States. The organization's primary focus is on calling an Article V Convention of the States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution. 

COSA promotes amendments that would impose limitations on the size and scope of the federal government.

The Trafalgar Group is a conservative public polling and market research firm. Their accurate poll results have earned them the title "most accurate pollster" in several national elections. The Trafalgar Group, however, predicted former President Donald Trump would win the 2020 election.

In the 2020 election, Wisconsin supported Biden and Harris over Trump and Mike Pence. The Democrats won a tight race by nearly 21,000 votes. Trump had carried the state in 2016.
