In a game that had everyone on the edge of their seat until the end, the Packers fell to Minnesota by a score of 34-31 on Nov. 21.

The loss is Green Bay's third on the season and puts their record at 8-3, good enough for first in the NFC North.

Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson of the Vikings were undoubtedly the standout stars of the game. Cousins finished with 341 yards through the air and three TDs. Jefferson caught two TDs and finished with 169 total yards.

Though Green Bay remains atop the NFC North safely, the main story coming out of the game was that the loss may have caused the Packers to miss out on a good chance to take the top seed in the conference. A 1-seed would give them a first round bye and a better shot at the Super Bowl this year, something that this year's version of the team appears to be ready for.

If the Packers want to secure the top seed, they will have to outpace the 7-3 Cowboys, 9-2 Cardinals, 7-3 Rams and 6-3 Buccaneers for the rest of the season.

Another story coming out of the matchup with the Vikings was the significant injuries that accrued during the game. An already-battered Packers squad saw superstar QB Aaron Rodgers leave shortly before halftime to tend to a foot injury. They also lost standout OL Elgton Jenkins for the season to a torn ACL. Jenkins has been elite in run blocking as well as pass protection this season and is a very significant loss for the team.

Still, this Packers team has a lot going for it and its players are communicating optimism in the face of adversity. Running back AJ Dillon tweeted, saying, "Stay the course. Turn L’s into lessons and keep going. #GoPackGo."

The Packers now draw another tough matchup next Sunday against the Rams in Green Bay.
