Elevate97, a company that does sign design, launched a new campaign called Women Helping Women in Green Bay.
This week, the company launched a t-shirt fundraiser with the goal of raising money to send to Ukraine.
The people of Ukraine are in an ongoing humanitarian crisis as Russia continues its aggression in the country. Several Ukrainian cities have been taken, causing the mass evacuation of thousands of people from Ukraine.
The fundraiser was launched on International Women's Day, a move that the company said was not an accident.
"It was intentional that we launched it on International Women’s Day. It’s women supporting women, and we want to help women throughout the world," Kate Burgess, CEO and president of Elevate97, said.
Available for sale are two t-shirt designs. One says, "I stand with Ukraine" while the other simply reads "Ukraine." Both are colored yellow and blue, the same colors as the Ukraine flag.
The goal of the fundraiser is to sell 1,000 shirts. All of the proceeds will be sent to the Urgent Action Fund for Women's Human Rights nonprofit organization.
Kristin Laursen, the director of marketing and communications for Elevate97, said that the employees of the company came together quickly to come up with ideas to help and were eager to assist.
“We moved fast. We really wanted to contribute quickly to this cause. We didn’t want to go through our normal process. We wanted to really make an impact, quickly,” she said.
The cost of the shirts is $20 each and they can be purchased on the company's website.
