Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur is hoping to use the next few days and practices to answer a lot of questions about his team going forward.

Ahead of the Aug. 19 match up against the New Orleans Saints in Green Bay, LaFleur was hoping to see more than he did during the Packer’s Aug. 12 preseason opening 28-21 loss to San Francisco, according to a Sports Illustrated release.

“They’re all big [for evaluation purposes], but certainly going against a team that we got a lot of respect for,” LaFleur told SI.com. “They put it on us pretty good last year and that's a talented roster, so it'll be a great test to see kind of where we stand.”

With a high number of new players on the roster and all their top players on the sidelines, the offense sputtered mightily during the Aug. 12 preseason game, including backup quarterback Jordan Love sprinkling in a mix of impressive plays with three interceptions, though two of them were described as being the fault of his receiver, according to Dairyland Express. Players who turned in solid performances included Amari Rodgers, TJ Slaton, Danny Davis and Jon Runyan.

Green Bay hosted the Saints for joint practices Aug. 16 and 17 before the game. All the team’s top players are again expected to be held out against the Saints, with LaFleur vowing the focus will be on cleaning up the mistakes they made in their opener; the SI report said.
