Former President Donald Trump (R) leads President Biden (D) by two points among Wisconsin voters in the 2024 race for the White House.
That’s according to a poll of Wisconsin voters released today by American Greatness.
Trump leads Biden 46-44%, with 10% undecided, in a two-man race. In a five-candidate field, Trump also leads Biden by two points, 38% to 36%, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at 11%, Jill Stein at 3%, Libertarian Chase Oliver at 2%, and 9% undecided.
The former president's lead has expanded over the current president since an April poll, conducted by the same polling firm, showed Trump tied with Biden.
Only 29% of Wisconsin voters say Biden is "mentally and physically capable" of performing his duties as president, which is lower than the 39% who said the president was "capable" in the April poll. 57% of voters polled said the Democrats should select an alternative candidate to run.
The survey results do not reflect the opinions of Wisconsin voters since the attempted assassination of Trump at a July 13 rally in Pennsylvania, as the poll was conducted July 6-10 among 600 likely voters by North Star Opinion Research. The sample was evenly split between Trump and Biden 2020 voters.
Trump is expected to officially receive the Republican nomination during the 2024 Republican National Convention, held at the Fiserve Forum in Milwaukee. The former president earlier today named U.S. Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) as his running mate.
