Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC), the state chamber of commerce, annually declares September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin. Throughout the month, WMC collaborates with local chambers to emphasize their vital role in communities statewide.
More than 265 local chambers in Wisconsin advocate for businesses daily, strengthening the economy, providing resources to professionals, promoting tourism, and connecting local communities.
“Local chambers are foundational to building a healthy business climate,” said WMC President & CEO Kurt R. Bauer. “We’re lucky to have some of the best chambers here in Wisconsin, leading boldly and creatively to advocate for businesses large and small. Their contributions to our communities and economy deserve this extra recognition this month.”
Gov. Tony Evers, at the request of the Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce Executives (WCCE), a division of WMC, proclaimed September as Chamber of Commerce Month in Wisconsin.
“Chambers of commerce play an essential role in building stronger communities by championing businesses, fostering connections, and driving economic growth,” shared WCCE Chairman and Fox Cities Chamber President and CEO Becky Bartoszek. “Throughout Wisconsin, chambers are working tirelessly to support local enterprises and create environments where businesses and communities can thrive. Chamber of Commerce Month is a meaningful time to recognize and celebrate the collective impact we have in making our state a dynamic place to live and work.”
Throughout the month, chambers will celebrate through various activities including events, social media campaigns, member outreach, and more. The celebration will culminate at the WCCE Annual Conference & Retreat held Sept. 24-26 in Sheboygan.
