FOIA Request to Trempealeau County Election Department Regarding Ballot Counting Methods on October 30, 2024.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., to the Trempealeau County Election Department. Our request seeks information about the methods they are using to count ballots in the upcoming election. If the counting is done manually, we have also asked for an estimated number of people who will be working on election night.

Access to public records is crucial for us at The Sconi as it allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. We believe that by obtaining this information, we can better inform our readers about the election process and ensure that it is being conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

We await a response from the Trempealeau County Election Department and will keep our readers updated with any developments. As always, we remain committed to delivering reliable news and promoting transparency in local government affairs.
