Howard Young Medical Center, part of Aspirus Health, has been recognized as a 'Top Recommended Hospital' by Becker's Hospital Review. This recognition is based on high levels of patient satisfaction and the likelihood of patients recommending the facility to others.

Becker's compiled this list using data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey, managed by The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The survey evaluates various aspects of patient experience, including the question, "Would you recommend this hospital to your friends and family?"

"Every day, our staff, nurses, and providers work tirelessly to ensure patients feel heard, supported, and valued. Being named a top recommended hospital is a proud moment for our team and reinforces the high standards of care we strive to provide to our community."

The HCAHPS star rating system uses feedback from surveys completed in 2023. It considers responses from hospitals with at least 100 completed surveys in a fourth-quarter period. The ranking focuses on patient satisfaction with their care and their likelihood of recommending the hospital.

The HCAHPS survey was developed by CMS and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) as a standardized tool for assessing patient experiences nationwide. It provides hospitals with a consistent method for measuring and improving quality care and patient satisfaction.
