FOIA Request to Outagamie County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
As part of our commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi sent a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records related to the upcoming elections.
Our request was specific and detailed, seeking a list of all candidates running in the forthcoming election. We asked for their first, middle, and last names, the office they are running for, the jurisdiction of that office, and their party affiliation.
Furthermore, we requested all contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
At The Sconi, we believe in holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public. Access to public records is essential for us to fulfill these professional responsibilities. As such, we have requested a fee waiver as a media professional.
We await the response from the Outagamie County Election Department and will continue our efforts to provide accurate and timely information about local government affairs.
