FOIA Request Sent to Dunn County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025

FOIA Request to Dunn County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.

In our continued efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Dunn County Election Department. The request, made under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., is for records pertaining to candidates running in the upcoming election.

The information sought includes the first, middle, and last names of all candidates, as well as the office they are running for and its jurisdiction. We have also requested details about each candidate's party affiliation.

Furthermore, we have asked for all available contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.

As a media organization committed to transparency and holding public institutions accountable, access to such public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that we are eligible for a fee waiver as a media professional due to our role in disseminating this information to the public.

We will continue to keep you updated on developments regarding this request and look forward to providing detailed coverage of the upcoming elections.
