FOIA Request to Green County Election Department Regarding Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
The Sconi, a media organization dedicated to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, has submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law for information about the candidates running in the upcoming election.
We are seeking an exhaustive list of all candidates vying for office in this election cycle. The details we have requested include the candidate's first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; and their party affiliation.
In addition to these basic details, we have also requested contact information for each candidate. This includes their address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization committed to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to such records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We are involved in gathering and reporting news to the public - a task that requires comprehensive access to public records.
