FOIA Request to Monroe County Election Department Regarding Information on Upcoming Election Candidates on February 5, 2025.
In our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at The Sconi have submitted a request under the Wisconsin Open Records Law, §19.31 et seq., for records of all candidates running in the upcoming election.
The specific information requested includes each candidate's first, middle, and last names; the office they are running for; jurisdiction of the office; party affiliation; and contact information such as address, phone number, and email address.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. We believe that as media professionals engaged in disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver.
