Senator Johnson joins colleagues to reintroduce death tax repeal bill

U.S. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin has collaborated with Senate Majority Leader John Thune of South Dakota and 44 other senators to reintroduce a bill aimed at permanently repealing the federal estate tax, commonly referred to as the death tax. The proposed legislation, known as the Death Tax Repeal Act, seeks to eliminate this tax, which affects family-run farms, ranches, and businesses upon the owner's death.

Senators supporting this initiative include Jim Banks of Indiana, John Barrasso of Wyoming, Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee, John Boozman of Arkansas, Katie Britt of Alabama, Ted Budd of North Carolina, Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia, John Cornyn of Texas, Tom Cotton of Arkansas, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota, Mike Crapo of Idaho, Ted Cruz of Texas, John Curtis of Utah, Steve Daines of Montana, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Deb Fischer of Nebraska, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Bill Hagerty from Tennessee.

Additional supporters are Josh Hawley from Missouri; John Hoeven from North Dakota; Cindy Hyde-Smith from Mississippi; Jim Justice from West Virginia; John Kennedy from Louisiana; James Lankford from Oklahoma; Mike Lee from Utah; Cynthia Lummis from Wyoming; Roger Marshall from Kansas; Mitch McConnell from Kentucky; Dave McCormick from Pennsylvania; Jerry Moran from Kansas; Bernie Moreno from Ohio and Markwayne Mullin also representing Oklahoma.

Other senators backing the legislation include Pete Ricketts and Deb Fischer both hailing from Nebraska; Jim Risch representing Idaho; Mike Rounds and John Thune both coming out for South Dakota interests alongside Eric Schmitt in Missouri. Rick Scott advocates Florida while Tim Scott champions South Carolina's cause together with Tim Sheehy advocating Montana's needs plus Thom Tillis represents North Carolina interests joined by Tommy Tuberville representing Alabama followed closely behind Roger Wicker advocating Mississippi's stance along Todd Young who represents Indiana’s position.
