Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations Chairman Ron Johnson and Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley have taken further steps to obtain unredacted transcripts from the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. On Monday, they addressed a letter to Attorney General Pamela Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel, urging them to facilitate the release of these documents.
In April 2023, Senators Johnson and Grassley initially requested the unredacted transcripts from the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General (DOJ OIG). The DOJ OIG indicated that redactions were made by other agencies like the FBI and DOJ, which meant they could not provide the complete documents.
The senators' recent correspondence asks both the DOJ and FBI to collaborate with the DOJ OIG in releasing unredacted versions promptly.
