Three therapists from Aspirus Langlade Hospital have received certification as Oncology Rehabilitation Specialists from the Physiological Oncology Rehabilitation Institute (PORi). Their certification serves to grant the hospital the classification of an Oncology Rehabilitation Center of Excellence.
Speech therapist Annika Fox obtained her certification in head and neck cancer. Physical therapist Jessica Brandt was certified in pelvic cancer and lower extremity rehabilitation, while occupational therapist Maureen Winter has certification in breast cancer, supplementing her status as a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.
Aspirus Langlade Hospital's Manager of Therapist Services, Erik Yuska, remarked, "In attaining this certification, our therapists completed a comprehensive curriculum that provides them with the clinical skills to treat all patients with a cancer diagnosis. We can provide support from diagnosis through treatment into post-treatment survivorship."
