A winning Mega Millions ticket sold in Cross Plains has brought a $100,000 prize to its holder. The ticket, purchased at Kwik Trip on Main Street, matched four out of five numbers and the Mega Ball in the June 3 drawing. Initially worth $10,000, the ticket's value was increased tenfold thanks to a 10X Multiplier.

Kwik Trip in Cross Plains is no stranger to big wins; it previously sold a $10,000 scratch ticket winner earlier this year. The recent changes to the Mega Millions game have led to increased winnings for players nationwide since its new version debuted on April 8.

"Since the new version of Mega Millions held its first drawing on April 8, players across the country have benefitted from the game enhancements," said a spokesperson for Wisconsin Lottery. They noted that there has been "a 300% increase in non-jackpot prizes" during the first month after these changes.

The revamped game now includes a built-in Multiplier feature with every play, which can enhance non-jackpot prizes by up to ten times their original amount. In addition to the Cross Plains win, another player secured a $20,000 prize using a 2X Multiplier on what would have been a $10,000 win.

Mega Millions' current format offers larger prizes at all non-jackpot levels compared to its predecessor. Players can now win between $10 and $10 million outside of jackpots.

Retailers selling winning tickets over $599 benefit from an incentive program providing them with two percent of the winning amount up to $100,000. Winners must claim their prizes within 180 days of the draw date.

The odds of securing a base prize of $10,000 are approximately one in 893,762 while obtaining a 10X Multiplier occurs once every thirty-two plays on average.
