The Department of Workforce Development has announced that Wisconsin's unemployment rate has reached 3.0 percent, lower than the national average of 4.3 percent. This figure is based on preliminary estimates from the U.S. Department of Labor and marks the third consecutive record for state employment.
"Wisconsin’s recording breaking economic performance," was highlighted by the Department of Workforce Development in their report. The state's labor force participation rate remained steady at 65.5 percent in July, surpassing the national average of 62.7 percent.
While there was an increase of 1,300 employed individuals over the previous month, nonfarm jobs saw a decrease of 6,500 during the same period. Additionally, there were 8,500 fewer private sector jobs compared to the previous month.
Despite these monthly fluctuations, year-to-date figures indicate a record high number of people employed in Wisconsin. Both nonfarm and private job sectors have shown strong growth over the past year.
