Jeff Brabant, Vice President of Federal Government Relations for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), participated in a discussion on WCUB in Green Bay. The conversation centered around the campaign to prevent a significant tax increase on small businesses in Wisconsin.

Brabant emphasized the importance of making the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent. He stated, "Congress should make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and stop the upcoming massive tax hike on Wisconsin small businesses."

The deduction was established as part of the 2017 tax law with the aim of providing small businesses with a more level playing field compared to larger corporations. This measure has supported small business owners through recent economic challenges but is scheduled to expire at the end of 2025.

The Main Street Tax Certainty Act is proposed legislation that would ensure this deduction remains in place, thus preventing a substantial tax increase for many American small businesses.
