The Powerball jackpot has reached an estimated $1.3 billion, making it the fifth largest prize in the history of the game and placing it among the top ten largest U.S. lottery jackpots. Over the recent Labor Day weekend, Wisconsin saw a surge in Powerball winners, with multiple tickets sold across the state earning significant prizes.

For the drawing held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, two tickets worth $50,000 each were sold at Kwik Trip locations in Baraboo and Green Bay. A third ticket worth $150,000 was sold at Kimbee's Liquor in Milwaukee due to the 3X Power Play multiplier. The winning numbers for that draw were 3-18-22-27-33 and the Powerball number was 17.

On Monday, September 1, six more $50,000 winning tickets were sold at various retailers: Kwik Trip in New Berlin; Harbor View Super One in Superior; Kwik Trip in Prescott; Eagle Express Travel Center in Peshtigo; Kwik Trip in Fitchburg; and Rib Foods LLC in Wausau. Another $150,000 ticket was sold at Lakeside Foods in Paddock Lake thanks to another 3X Power Play multiplier. The numbers drawn were 8-23-25-40-53 with a Powerball of 5.

Before this holiday weekend, there had been 18 Wisconsin Powerball tickets that matched four out of five numbers plus the Powerball for prizes of $50,000 or more during 2025. With these new wins over Labor Day weekend, that total has increased to 28 for the year.

Four major Powerball jackpots have already been won this year: $328.5 million in Oregon on January 18; $526.5 million in California on March 29; $167.3 million in Kentucky on April 26; and $204.5 million again in California on May 31.

The upcoming Wednesday drawing will mark the forty-first since the last jackpot was won on May 31, which is approaching the record streak of forty-two consecutive drawings set on April 6, 2024 when a $1.326 billion jackpot was claimed in Oregon.

Among all U.S. lottery games—including Mega Millions—the current estimated jackpot ranks as ninth largest overall.

Retailers who sell winning Wisconsin Lottery tickets over $599 receive a two-percent performance incentive up to a maximum of $100,000.

Players have up to 180 days from the date of the draw to claim their winnings and can find information about claiming prizes at https://www.wilottery.com/. The Lottery’s mobile app is available for players who wish to check their tickets via smartphone through both the App Store and Google Play.

Powerball drawings are held three times weekly—Monday, Wednesday and Saturday—at 9:59 p.m., with ticket sales closing at 9:00 p.m. Tickets cost $2 per play with an optional Power Play feature available for an additional dollar per play.

The odds of winning the jackpot are one in nearly three hundred million (1:292,201,338), while winning a $50,000 prize carries odds of one in just over nine hundred thousand (1:913,130). For those who opt into Power Play for an extra dollar per ticket, there is a one-in-three-point-three chance (1:3.3) that a three-times multiplier will be drawn during either Saturday or Monday night draws.
