Jay Weber, host of WISN-Milwaukee, said that Antifa and similar groups should be investigated for their funding sources and designated as domestic terror organizations. This statement was made on the social media platform X.

"I've been suggesting this for years, including a wider investigation into groups like Antifa and who is funding them," said Weber, Talkshow Host. "Some should be listed as domestic terror organizations."

In September 2025, President Donald Trump signed an executive order designating Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization. The White House described it as a "militarist, anarchist enterprise" involved in riots, violent assaults, doxxing, and threats against political figures. The order directed federal agencies to investigate its alleged funding sources.

According to Axios, which cited an Associated Press review of 2020 protest arrests, most individuals arrested during the George Floyd-era demonstrations were not linked to extremist groups such as Antifa. The majority of charges involved property damage or disorderly conduct rather than organized domestic terrorism ties.

The Congressional Research Service notes that while federal law under Title 18 defines domestic terrorism, the United States lacks legal authority to designate purely domestic groups as terrorist organizations. This means that groups like Antifa cannot be formally listed in the same manner as foreign terrorist entities.
