MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today delivered the Democratic Radio Address wishing Wisconsinites happy holidays.
Hey there, folks. Governor Tony Evers here.
I’d like to take a moment to wish everyone across Wisconsin happy holidays!
I was glad to kick off the holiday season here at the Capitol by lighting the 2023 Wisconsin State Capitol Holiday Tree with this year’s theme, “175 Years of Wisconsinites.”
Kids from across our state sent in handmade ornaments celebrating the wonderful contributions Wisconsinites have made over the past 175 years of statehood, and they didn’t disappoint!
From Ada Deer, Curly Lambeau, and Vel Phillips to sports teams and mascots, to farmers, Indigenous communities, and teachers, parents and grandparents, and so many others—this year’s tree celebrated the rich history, traditions, and people who’ve made Wisconsin what it is today.
It’s been a joy to come together and celebrate this holiday season, from lighting the State Capitol Holiday Tree and joining Chabad of Madison to light their nine-foot-tall menorah to hosting legislators at the Executive Residence for a bipartisan holiday celebration and many more.
No matter how you’re celebrating this season, I hope each of you can take some time to enjoy with neighbors, friends, and loved ones, to rest and recover, and to reflect on the past year.
Here’s to a memorable holiday season and happy new year. Happy holidays, Wisconsin!
