FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments on September 26, 2024.
In our ongoing efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a request for records under the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140) to Dekalb County.
The request specifically asks for a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. The requested information includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount paid.
As a media organization dedicated to transparency and accountability in public institutions, we believe that access to such public records is essential in fulfilling our professional responsibilities. We are hopeful that our request will be granted without any fees as we qualify for a fee waiver being a media professional.
We await a positive response from Dekalb County as we continue our mission of keeping the public informed about their local government's activities.
