Members of the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) convened at the Renaissance Milwaukee West Hotel in Wauwatosa to present several awards, including the Builder of the Year Award. The event also saw the installation of their 2024 leadership team, headed by Jim Doering from Zilber Ltd./Homes by Towne.

"Homebuilding continues to be a thriving industry in Wisconsin, and we are grateful for all our members across the state who continue to advance the desire of homeownership across our state," said WBA President Jim Doering. "This year’s award recipients have broken barriers in the industry and have proven themselves to be leaders thanks to their work in their businesses, communities, and our association."

Award candidates were nominated by local builders associations and selected by the WBA awards committee. The Builder of the Year and Associate of the Year awards represent significant recognition for builder and associate members. The Hall of Fame award is reserved for those with at least 20 years of membership, while Rising Star awardees are recognized for contributing positively to the housing industry. All winners must actively participate within their local association as well as with WBA, National Association of Home Builders, and their community.

The recipients included Abe Degnan from Degnan Design-Build-Remodel in DeForest as Builder of the Year; Andy Dongarra from Johnson Bank in Janesville as Associate of the Year; Ashly Hartmann from R-Value Insulators, LLC in Rhinelander received the Rising Star award; David Belman from Belman Homes, Inc. in Waukesha and Mark Brehmer from Windsor Building Systems in Madison were inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The Wisconsin Builders Association consists of 21 local associations focused on aiding members to build communities throughout Wisconsin. It represents 4,000 home building industry members advocating for affordable housing access for families.
