The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new national advertising campaign in Wisconsin. The campaign features a video ad that expresses gratitude to Senator Ron Johnson for his support of efforts to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent.

NFIB President Brad Close stated, "Small businesses are the foundation of our economy, yet more than 30 million of them are about to face a massive tax hike that would hurt their ability to create jobs and give back to their communities." He emphasized the potential negative impact on small businesses if the tax savings were suddenly removed. Close highlighted that the Main Street Tax Certainty Act aims to make this deduction permanent, preventing what he described as a "massive tax hike on nine out of 10 small businesses."

Bill G. Smith, NFIB State Director, praised Senator Johnson's advocacy for small businesses in Wisconsin. "Senator Ron Johnson has been a strong advocate for small businesses in Wisconsin, and we want to thank him for his support," Smith said. He further stressed the importance of passing the Main Street Tax Certainty Act.

The 20% Small Business Deduction was initially established as part of the 2017 tax law with an aim to balance competition between small businesses and larger corporations. While it has helped business owners navigate recent economic challenges, it is set to expire at the end of 2025. The proposed legislation seeks to ensure its permanence.
