The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) has launched a new national advertising campaign in Wisconsin, featuring a video ad that expresses gratitude to Senator Ron Johnson for his efforts to support small businesses. This initiative aims to highlight Johnson's advocacy for making the 20% Small Business Deduction a permanent fixture.

The NFIB's 30-second video ad can be viewed online at YouTube, and it underscores concerns about potential tax increases for more than 30 million small businesses. According to NFIB President Brad Close, losing these tax savings would significantly impact small businesses. He stated, "Suddenly removing tax savings will decimate America’s small businesses, who have used the 20% Small Business Deduction to overcome significant hurdles like inflation, hiring shortages, and supply chain disruptions. The Main Street Tax Certainty Act would make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent and avoid a massive tax hike on nine out of 10 small businesses. Congress must pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act now to level the playing field and help small businesses compete."

NFIB State Director Bill G. Smith commented, "Senator Ron Johnson has been a strong advocate for small businesses in Wisconsin, and we want to thank him for his support. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy, and this deduction has been crucial in helping them overcome economic challenges. Congress must pass the Main Street Tax Certainty Act to make the 20% Small Business Deduction permanent."

The 20% Small Business Deduction, introduced as part of the 2017 tax law, aims to create a more equitable environment between small and large businesses. It has played a vital role in helping small businesses tackle economic difficulties in recent years. However, this deduction is set to expire at the end of 2025. The proposed Main Street Tax Certainty Act seeks to make this deduction permanent, preventing a significant tax increase for many small businesses across America.
