U.S. Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin has joined a bipartisan group of senators in supporting a resolution that condemns the attack carried out by Hamas against Israel two years ago. The resolution also calls for measures to ensure Israel's security and demands the release of all remaining hostages, including the remains of two U.S. citizens.
Senator Johnson issued a statement regarding the attack: "The October 7th attacks demonstrated Hamas’ hatred of the Jewish people and its indifference to the fate of its own people. As we remember the terrible evil of that day, we must be resolute in demanding that Hamas be fully dismantled and play no role in the region moving forward."
Johnson is joined by Senators Joni Ernst, John Fetterman, and all Senate Republicans in backing this measure. Other senators signing on include John Thune, Chuck Grassley, John Barrasso, Tom Cotton, Shelley Moore Capito, James Lankford, Tim Scott, Jim Banks, Marsha Blackburn, John Boozman, Katie Britt, Ted Budd, Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, John Cornyn, Kevin Cramer, Ted Cruz, Mike Crapo, John Curtis, Steve Daines, Deb Fischer, Pete Ricketts, Lindsey Graham, Bill Hagerty, Josh Hawley, John Hoeven, Jon Husted, Cindy Hyde-Smith, Jim Justice, John Kennedy, Mike Lee, Cynthia Lummis, Roger Marshall, Mitch McConnell, Dave McCormick, Ashley Moody, Rick Scott, Jerry Moran, Bernie Moreno, Markwayne Mullin, Lisa Murkowski, Dan Sullivan, Thom Tillis, Rand Paul, Jim Risch, Mike Rounds, Eric Schmitt, Tim Sheehy, Tommy Tuberville, Roger Wicker and Todd Young.
