The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) has announced the opening of the nomination period for three seats on the Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board. The window for submitting nominations is open until October 31, 2025.
Producers who grow and sell corn in Districts 1, 2, and 7 are eligible to nominate candidates or be nominated themselves. The counties included in each district are as follows: District 1 covers Ashland, Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Douglas, Eau Claire, Iron, Jackson, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Polk, Portage, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Vilas, Washburn, Waupaca, and Wood; District 2 includes Buffalo, Dunn, Pepin, Pierce, St. Croix and Trempealeau; while District 7 consists of Dodge, Green Lake, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha.
To facilitate participation in the election process for the board that oversees corn promotion efforts across these regions of Wisconsin https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Growing_WI/CornBoard.aspx, DATCP staff will provide nomination forms upon request up until the deadline. Producers can obtain a form by contacting DATCP Market Orders staff at (608) 224-5046. Completed nomination forms must have signatures from five eligible corn growers other than the nominee.
All completed forms should be mailed to DATCP’s Market Orders office at P.O. Box 8911 in Madison. According to DATCP’s announcement: “DATCP staff will mail nomination forms to any producer who requests one prior to October 31, 2025. Contact the DATCP Market Orders staff at (608) 224-5046 or at . A completed nomination form must include the signatures of five eligible corn growers other than the nominee. Mail completed forms to DATCP, Market Orders P.O. Box 8911 Madison WI 53708-8911.”
Elections for these positions are scheduled to begin on December 5 and run through January 12 of next year. Growers elected during this cycle will serve three-year terms starting February 1.
As stated by DATCP: “The Wisconsin Corn Promotion Board election will begin on December 5 ,2025 and go through January 12 ,2026 . Elected growers will serve three-year terms beginning February 1 ,2026 .”
